Sharpless-Hall Building Replacement Project

At its meeting in February 2015, the West Chester Borough Council endorsed The Hickman’s plans for a new 3-story building with 69 rooms, which will replace the current Sharpless-Hall Building. The first floor will be a secure dementia program, with supportive residential living on the second and third floors. We will be providing regular updates as the project progresses!

What Our Residents are Saying About The Hickman

James and Elaine K. Coate

After we had a bout with a serious illness, our children suggested that it was time for a change of life and that we truly ‘retire.’ We knew friends who lived at The Hickman in West Chester, and were very impressed by the quality of loving care they received there. So…we downsized, sold the house and moved in. We have never looked back!

It has been a wonderful experience. We enjoy our apartment and feel very much at home. The residents and staff surround us with love. We are glad there is such a place to meet our needs as we age in place without the pressures of homeownership. Our children are happy with our choice and appreciate the worry-free time we’re able to spend with them and our grandchildren.
